BEEN A WHILE.....

Just realised that I haven't blogged owt for ages, been working loads and got a bit slack which has gotta stop....
For anyone that's interested, I have a show up at Laynes Coffee shop in Leeds, best coffee in that terrible city.....It's got a couple of days left until I have to take it down, then it's off to  Nottingham to be part of the World Event Young Artist 2012 which i'm pretty stoked about. Me and my boy Rich Fish will be representing in September, can't wait!

Also got an interview in May for a possible giant move, more to come on that later though.Hopefully all this pretty decent news is gonna get me motivated to get more on it again.

One hour in Goldsthorpe

Went to a place called Goldsthorpe the other week to accompany Theo on one of his new projects, I went on a 5 minute wander around a lovely little grey cul de sac and took these beautifully depressing photographs...

SOURCE MAGAZINE

The day after we landed from Prague I shot off up to Glasgow for a day trip to meet John Duncan, the picture editor of Source Magazine.
I had applied for a portfolio review in the hope of my work eventually being published, 40 people applied and I was one of 7 who got through to the first stage... John picked out a tight edit of the work I showed him, some old, some new (which was pleasing!) He wants to see more so I have to get back on it hard...
So for now my work has gone through to Source's next editorial board meeting and hopefully, over discussion, it will go to print in the new year. Here are a couple of new "suburban drama's" for the time being...(haven't scanned properly yet so excuse the casts)

PRAHA

Visited Prague a couple of weeks ago, took a few photographs...nothing special. Dead nice place, not many tourists in November which is always nice. Cold.....

COMBE

Last week I visited the village of Combe where my dad was born. I had last visited about 8 years ago, so my memory of the place was weak and I definitely had no recollection of the bowl that lives there....
40 years ago my Dad and his Dad built a bowl that still stands to this day.. Combe has one pub, about 200 houses and not even a village shop, but it has a skate park (of sorts)
It was closed when we arrived "due to an incident", but I did the honours of laying down a lazy frontside for the crowds (my mum) anyway...

BARCA NOSTALGIA

In 2009 we went to Barcelona for Primevera festival. the night we got there coincided with Barcelona's Champions League victory over Man United....celebrations turned in to a full city riot, which presumably happens most big nights whether they win or lose...Luke ended up taking a rubber bullet to the face..
One smashed eye socket and broken cheekbone later he was up and about, just, (it was only when he got back to England 4 days later he found out about the extent of his injuries...)
Anyway, this year we went back to visit the spot where he got shot, I talked him through what happened and it all came flooding back...
